Love Letters by AR Gurney
February 14 & 20, 2010
Left Bank Players announces for your enjoyment its premier offering: Love Letters by AR Gurney, a story in letters of the love (and sometimes ire) between two people that spans a lifetime. It is the perfect play for Valentine´s Day--romantic, but not sappy--and you can see it in Erongarícuaro, capital of the Left Bank, on 14 February 2010 at 4 p.m. in the sala at Colectiva Las Rosas (home of the vacationing Red Star Café) on the plaza at Portal Hidalgo 3.

Tickets can be purchased at Boutique Las Rosas (right next door) ahead of time and at the door on the day of the show for $30 pesos, which will get you entry, as well as a postre and a cuppa our famous Joe.

Dr. Susan Steiner both directs and stars in the play. She has extensive theatrical experience both on the stage and behind the scenes. Dr. Steiner graduated from Wellesley College and was founding member of the East LA Classic Theater Company and worked as president of Theater Forty, the longest running theater company in LA. She has appeared in theatrical productions on both First and Second Coasts.

Charles Dews worked in television and film on the Third Coast (Texas, y'all) as actor, director, and producer for years. He is also a prize-winning public speaker.

Left Bank Players is proud to begin its 2010 season with Gurney's play. We will announce further presentations once we get permissions and royalties arranged. The company is dedicated to presenting quality English-language theater to Michoacán audiences.

Love Letters will also be presented at Mistongo in Pátzcuaro on 20 February 2010 at 6 p.m.. The cost of tickets will be $60 pesos and will include entry, as well as two-for-one happy hour wine or margaritas. We are trying to arrange this as a fundraiser for the Bocanegra library in Pátzcuaro.

Hope to see you all. Bring friends. Pass it on.

Trying by Joanna McClelland Glass
July 17 & 24, 2011
Left Bank Readers Theater is presenting the Canadian play "Trying" in Eronga at the Amado Nervo Theater on Sunday, July 17, at 2, and in Pátzcuaro, at the Ex-colegio theater, on Sunday, July 24, at 1.
Donations are requested of $50 pesos.
This play is a bittersweet slice of real history, the story of a young woman from Saskatchewan and an old lion of a judge who presided over the Nuremburg Trials.
The Amado Nervo Theater is on the right hand side of the Plaza, next to the ice cream/sandwich cafe.

Left Bank Readers Theater is happy to announce its newest production: Twice Around the Park by Murray Schisgal with Andrew Krumbhaar as director. Dawn Cummings, Lisa Morse, Ron Granich, and Charles Dews are the actors. The dates of the show are 29, 30 March, a Saturday and a Sunday at Posada Yolihuani at Dr. Cos #40 in Patzcuaro. The Saturday show will begin at 7:00 p.m. but the Sunday matinee at 2:00 p.m is sold out. The performance will last about two hours, and the suggested donation is $50 pesos, all of which goes back into the company to finance future shows. Twice, on its surface, is a comedy, but it has a wonderfully sharp edge to it, and anyone who has ever been in a relationship for any length of time will recognize themselves in the play. Contact Shelly Pryor by email at Spryor2006@yahoo.com for reservations. We hope to see you all. And thank you for your continuing support of English-language theater in Pátzcuaro.
